Skylanders. Lovely, lovely Skylanders. How many days did I chase and chase you little buggers. But now, it doesn't seem like it will ever end!
Ok, I admit. Skylanders is a pretty darn clever idea. Buy an unfortunately static toy and place them on the Portal of Power and BAM! The character jumps into the game. You can level them and give them hats (yes hats). And, they remember. They will remember and are supposed to remember their experiences and take them into Skylanders Giants, the next installment.
This giveaway is neat. I love the cutsie little characters. And then... I learn that these are playable in the game!! Seriously! I get chips and a little Skylander... I mean my son gets a Skylander. But who to choose?!?! They are all so cute! Ok, get all 4. Way too easy.
Here's how to do it.
Step 1: Walk into K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Target, or any place that sells the chip multi-packs. (Prices that I encountered - K-mart: $8.96, Target: $6.99, and Wal-Mart: $6.48) I suggest Wal-Mart...
You need to find the bags with this printed on them!
Step 2: Open the bag and remove the order card.
Step 4: Fill out the card. You need one per character and you can only get four per household! If you need extras, borrow grandma's address and get it done!
Step 5: Fill out of check for $2. Who still has checks?
Step 6: Drop it all in an envelope, put a stamp on it, and drop it in the mailbox!
Step 7: Try and be patient while you wait 8-10 weeks for delivery! ARGH!
Now, I found some videos with the sidekicks in action. Here is the most popular one! Enjoy!
And if you liked that, here is the official Skylanders Giants trailer.
I've had the privilege to see the game in action and the upcoming Skylanders in person. This will be a darn neat sequel!
