X-Men Sequel To Follow DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Story Line

One Per Case has learned of some interesting news from it's contact at

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Sequel will start production early next year and now AICN has heard that there will be a heavy dose of Magneto this time around and that the studio recently registered the title DAYS OF FUTURE PAST with the MPAA Title Registration Bureau.

No confirmation yet if that’s going to be the official title of this sequel, but if you’re a die hard X-Men fan, you’d recognize that it’s the title for a two-issue story arc of the X-Men comics published by Marvel in 1981 and the story dealt with alternative timelines.

Days of Future Past” is a popular storyline in the Marvel Comics comic book The Uncanny X-Men issues #141 and #142, published in 1981. It deals with a dystopian alternative future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An older Kitty Pryde transfers her mind into the younger, present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men to prevent a fatal moment in history which triggers anti-mutant hysteria.
The storyline was very popular at the time and was produced during the franchise’s rapid rise to popularity,[citation needed] which was largely due to “The Dark Phoenix Saga” and “Days of Future Past” writer/artist team of Chris Claremont and John Byrne. As a result of this popularity, the dark future seen in this story was revisited on several occasions. The first issue of this storyline was voted the 25th greatest Marvel Comic of all time by the fans in 2001.
This reality has been designated as Earth-811.
